Neil Postman breathed life into Media Ecology, though he believed that the first Media Ecologist was God, when he said, "Let there be light." Through the writings of Postman, Marshall McLuhan, Sr. Walter Ong, Harold Innis, Susan Langer, and so many others, What was brought forth in New York University has been rising into a global gathering. This is the 14th one of the Media Ecology Association, under the direction of its president (and member of the band Blue Race), Thom Gencarelli of Manhattan College, and the by the designers / planners of this meeting, Valerie Peterson and Corey Anton, both of Grand Valley State University. This took place on the PEW campus, in downtown Grand Rapids.
