Robert Barry Francos: LYONS & CLARK LP, “Prisms” IS a listen all-the-way-through record. I had this LP not once(many copies,1982) but twice(1 copy,1997) topped off with the enchanting cover(Both front + back).Album + songs title(s) are nice with top-notch session-men(Elvis,Beatles,Steely Dan and many more).SoLiDsOuNdWaVeS@gmail.comhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11529082828878361032noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3785034423063815710.post-4841725320930512152014-03-29T14:21:31.153-04:002014-03-29T14:21:31.153-04:00I picked 'Prisms' up in a charity shop her...I picked 'Prisms' up in a charity shop here in Aberdeen Scotland....played it once whilst doing stuff around my flat, then forgot about it. I was clearing out recently and was thinking of putting it back to charity-shop land, but thankfully gave it another listen before I did......some very nice songs on there, with lovely harmonies. The backing is often a bit sugary, but Lyons & Clark overcome this.......it'd be cool to see them re-record the songs (or, even better, new ones). I think they could have a similar impact to Linda Perhacs' new one, 44 years after her first album (Parallelograms) came out without the attention it deserved.Alanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16542857172906949500noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3785034423063815710.post-59235831233089591772011-04-07T11:39:09.193-04:002011-04-07T11:39:09.193-04:00I am truly honored to have you respond, Debbie. My kind thoughts are with you.
- RobertRobert Barry Francoshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17403914616932689149noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3785034423063815710.post-72747029321362199942011-04-07T02:48:02.512-04:002011-04-07T02:48:02.512-04:00Hey Jess! I first met Debbie Lyons and Pam Clark in the early 70's and thought their music was amazing. They actually went on to record another album after " Prisms" with Shelter Records but got crosswise with Denny Cordell. Cordell and Shelter refused to do any thing with the Masters. A long drawn out lawsuit ensued and in the end they were told the Masters were destoryed in a flood in the vault.

I actually have a copy of this album on tape. They eventually moved to Nashville to try and resurrect their career but in the end they were too disillusioned and moved on to other things. A sad tale all to often played out in the music business.

They are not only great musicians but fabulous friends.Jess Gallowaynoreply@blogger.com
